Chaka Khan

Chaka who is also known as Queen of Funk as she is sometimes referred to is an American record producer. She has received a total of ten Grammys throughout her lengthy career spanning more than 50 years. Billboard Magazine has named her as the 65th best dance artist in history. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was first introduced to jazz by her mother from a young age. The beginning years of her career, she performed with various band. The group she later joined was Rufus. The group released her first album at age twenty. A year later the group won their debut Grammy. The singer released her debut self-titled album only a few years later than her debut solo album. In the following years, she came out with a variety of albums including "Echoes from an Era," The Woman I am as well as Funk This. She is also known for her charity work. She founded her foundation, the Chaka Khan Foundation to help children with families in need, and also children with autism. Khan is also an actor occasionally.
